For the best Screen Mirroring experience, be sure to:

  • Close all internet browser windows (Chrome, MS Edge, Firefox, Safari, etc) except the one playing the video.
  • If using a phone or tablet, turn the device into landscape;

Steps for Screen Mirroring your device:

Android – Mirror your Android device (running version 4.2 or later) screen to a Chromecast device (Roku, Amazon Fire Stick, etc)

  1. Make sure your phone or tablet and your Chromecast device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. Open the Google Home app on your phone or tablet.
  3. Select the Chromecast you want to mirror your phone or tablet to.
  4. Tap Cast My Screen.  Cast may be replaced by terms like Smart View, Quick Connect, SmartShare, AllShare Cast, Wireless display, Display mirroring, HTC Connect or Screen casting.
  5. Tap Cast Screen.
  6. There may be a warning from Google not to show any passwords or other sensitive data while screen recording or casting your screen.
  7. Select Start now to begin casting to your Chromecast device.
  8. Volume can be adjusted in the Home app
  9. To Stop mirroring, simply select the Stop button when you’re done.

Apple –  Mirror your entire screen iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to an Apple TV or AirPlay 2-compatible smart TV.

  1. Connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to the same Wi-Fi network as your Apple TV or AirPlay 2-compatible smart TV.
  2. Open Control Center:
    1. On iPhone X or later or iPad with iPadOS 13 or later: Swipe down from the upper-right corner of the screen.
    2. On iPhone 8 or earlier or iOS 11 or earlier: Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen.
  3. Tap  Screen Mirroring.
  4. Select your Apple TV or AirPlay 2-compatible smart TV from the list.
  5. If an AirPlay passcode appears on your TV screen, enter the passcode on your iOS or iPadOS device.
  6. Your TV uses your iOS or iPadOS device’s screen orientation and aspect ratio. To fill your TV screen with the mirrored device screen, change your TV’s aspect ratio or zoom settings.
  7. To stop mirroring your iOS or iPadOS device, open Control Center, tap Screen Mirroring, then tap Stop Mirroring. Or press the Menu button on your Apple TV Remote.
